Sean's Quiet Room

Story

I am raising money in memory of one of my best friends Sean Sockett who died in August last year, at the age of 30, after suffering a stroke.

He had suffered a brain stem stroke one morning and was taken into intensive care at Leeds General Infirmary where he stayed for just under two weeks before passing away on the 25th of August 2018.

Now his family want to create 'Sean's Quiet Room' as his legacy on the Acute Stroke Ward 21 at Leeds General Infirmary. It will provide a quiet space for private meetings with families, consultants and all medical staff; a place for quiet time out, for refreshments and rest, or overnight emergency stay.

This summer I will be doing three fundraising walks/runs:

22nd June - walking Pen-y-Ghent with Sean's family

14th July - doing the Leeds Cares Charity Canal Challenge (https://leeds-cares.org/events/canalchallenge/)

4th August - running the York 10k

Any donations, however small, would be for such a good cause and mean so much to Sean's family and friends!
