How can we  ever accept what happened to our beautiful healthy  clean living son .That fateful morning of 14 th August 2018 Sean collapsed at his home in Leeds, in the early morning. When Sean arrived at leeds general Infirmary he was placed on life support. The  worst news a parent could ever have to hear was given to us . Sean had a brainstem stroke due to a tear in an artery, this had caused a blood clot that caused a stroke. Something very rare in a  healthy young man only 30 years old . Sean seemed so well he had worked the day before. None of it made sense . We were told Sean was in a very critical situation . Shock fear numb so many emotions sets in . How do we cope with so much heartache and fear . 11 days of love & prayers from so many wonderful people everywhere our church familys and friends, the hospital chaplains who came to visit Sean .The special service and prayers and and blessings they gave Sean while on life support  done at his bedside, was a great comfort for us for Sean. Love and support helped through by a wonderful medical team on the critical  Intensive Care ward L6 .we had to eventually ask for a Quiet Room . Sean was to be taken off life support after 11 days , absolutely devastated nothing more could be done , our lives were shattered, broken, unmendable . So unfair Sean had as always looked after himself went to the gym most days, was a runner loved the outdoors up a mountain and a ten mile hike did a lot of swimming anything to keep fit and well. As parents and loving big sister to sean we were always there for Sean , loved and protected and kept him safe how could this happen when we were not there .why why why we are left asking ourselves, if only if only we have said a thousand times.
