(we needed a quiet room for Sean.) 24th August 2019

This time last year we had just moved down onto ward 17 with Sean. I had requested somewhere more quiet, we were placed on a normal cardiac ward 17. we were put in a side room, a very small tatty room with paint hanging off the walls, but we made the best of what we had , it was the quiet room we needed more for Sean . It was not even on the appropriate Acute stroke ward 21, no room up there that night we were told. But again we made the best of what we had, at least we had some peace and quiet for Sean, It had been so busy and noisey up on ward L6 . Now things had changed , a special quiet room for Sean was needed away from the hustle and bustle of the every day emergency ward was more appropriate. And we was able to be at seans bedside all nightlong , a blessing for us to just be able to stay with Sean and hold him in our loving arms as long as we could. This was when we saw a much needed palliative care room for the patient was needed, for their final hours, and in a more appropriate setting, for our loved ones end of life care so often in these cases a hospice isn't an option, the patience is too ill too be moved or a place is not available this was our experience at that time so many wonderful friends of seans his family, their friends and families our wonderful church family, and strangers, all have kindly fundraised and donated an amazing total to create a much needed family room that is almost complete, up on ward 21 the Acute Stroke Ward. And a much needed palliative room was requested in March on the same ward and hopefully to be in progress soon . so that patients like sean will have a quiet palliative care room for their final hours , A much needed family room is almost ready to be used, for families who have to come in an emergency and need some where to stay overnight for the first crucial 24 hours with their loved ones, they will have a private quiet room with overnight facilities if they need to stay Sean's sister kirsty and her special friends kindly donate emergency care bags containing toiletries for (Seans Quiet Rooms) to help in times of an emergency. Sean was a very special person who was loved so much by everyone who met him , he lived his short life to the full, but always had time to help others in any way he could , he has left an imprint on so many hearts. These two rooms are in memory of our wonderful son, brother, uncle , grandson , nephew, partner and best friend to many . Thankyou to everyone who has helped create this special legacy it couldn't have been done so soon without all your love and support. Sean would be so humbled to know know he continues to help others all in his beautiful memory. God Bless you Sean our wonderful Son, Brother, Uncle , Grandson, Nephew, Partner, and Best Friend to so many. Sending all our love to you in Heaven 💙👍Sean God Bless Mum Dad Kirsty Craig Layla poppy and everyone who loved and knew you. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxcxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxcc
